Dear
Parents/Guardians,
Oil
Tank
As you know we are in need of a new
oil tank. It has been ordered and is presently being
manufactured. Fr. Raaser worked diligently with the oil company
to find a model that fits our needs and is also not cost
prohibitive. They agreed to price that is actually almost half
of the original quote. Luckily we have enjoyed a rather warm
fall season until now. Most students have continued to wear
summer uniforms.
The oil company has confirmed with
us today that a temporary tank will be installed tomorrow
morning and will be providing heat by tomorrow afternoon.
Last year 500 fleece jackets were
donated to our school with the idea that they could be used to
raise funds for our school. Today we opted instead to distribute
them to our students for an extra layer of warmth. Our school
gave the appearance of an invasion of Smurfs today!
These jackets can be worn
throughout the school year whenever needed. Since they are
identical we would ask that you find some way of labeling your
child’s jacket. We did not have larger sizes for some of our
older students. Students who did not receive a Smurf jacket may
opt to wear a similar jacket if they are cold. We are also
considering offering an optional heavy weight hooded sweatshirt
as part of the gym suit that could also be worn in cold
weather.
Thank you for your patience and
understanding as we work through this concern.
Technology Update
Recently we received a donation of
8 ‘previously owned’ computers. Mr. Swift is currently working
on re-programming them for our needs. They will eventually be
utilized in our Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms.
We are now looking for a small
microwave oven and a dorm size refrigerator for use in a staff
room. If anyone is updating at home we would be most
appreciative your used items.
Halloween
Various classes have different
activities during the day. Please refer to School Notes or other
communication sent home from your child’s homeroom teacher for
details. Some general guidelines are:
-

Costume Parade at 2:00. Students do not
wear costumes to school.
-

2nd and 3rd Grades may wear
gym suits to school and put their costumes on
over them later in the day.
-

They will join 5th Grade in the Cafeteria for
activities in the afternoon. No costume, etc. for
these grades.
-

tasteful and appropriate to wear to a Catholic school.

be worn.
Parents are invited to join
classes for the parade. Parents will be permitted to take the
little ones (grades Pre-K-3) home at its conclusion.
