Dear HSA Representative,
Thank you for volunteering to be a Class Rep for the 2016- 2017 school year! We appreciate your valuable time and efforts. They are immeasurable gifts to your children and the entire ICS community. Please find attached the list of your fellow Class Reps for this year so far. Several others will be confirmed as the school year begins.
As a Class Rep, you will have the opportunity to be involved in many of the moments that make it special for our children: helping out at some of our favorite family events like “Breakfast with Santa” or Walkathon, coordinating class parties, or sometimes, going above and beyond for a family in need.
As you may already know, the HSA is a fundraising group that supplements the operating costs of the Immaculate Conception School. Each year, our goal is over $100,000 and we can meet and exceed that goal with your help!
Our Mission Statement:
The Immaculate Conception Home & School Association is a collaboration of parents, teachers and
administrators whose efforts aim to
• Support the academic excellence of our school
• Foster CatholicChristian
• Maintain a community founded on respect
• Facilitate communication
Our commitment to these efforts will be fulfilled by educating, advocating, fundraising and "funraising"
to promote the longstanding tradition of Catholic education at a local, regional and national level.
Our HSA believes that volunteering is one of the best ways to promote Catholic values within the ICS family and beyond. We also know that you are busy. We do our best to keep meetings brief and are always innovating new ways to use time and resources efficiently. We will continue to use your feedback to make our meetings better and to make it easier to be an HSA Rep for all involved.
As an ICS HSA Class Rep, you will be asked to:
● Attend monthly HSA meetings usually the first Wednesday evening of every month. We ask that at least
one of the two Reps will be in attendance at the meeting. If both of you are unable to attend, please send
another parent in the class to represent your class.
● Get involved: Act as a chairperson, co chair or committee member for an HSA event or volunteer for HSA
● Create class contact list after Back to School Night to share with class via email and send a copy to
● Attend class trips if schedule allows or find suitable class parent replacement.
● Send out periodic class emails and reminders as well as inquiries for questions or concerns from parents
to be addressed at meetings.
● Coordinate class functions as needed such as holiday parties, teacher’s Christmas gift, end of school year
The HSA Board, as well as past Class Reps, are here to help if you have any questions or need any
We value the opinions of our Class Reps and our school families. In June, we sent out both a school wide and a Class Rep survey to gather feedback. Our goal is to create a better Home School Association, better events and meet the ever changing needs of our school, children and families. To that end, we will be introducing some new events this year, revamping some old favorites and finding new and innovative ways to make it easier to volunteer. At our monthly HSA meetings, we will share some of our findings and implement your suggestions to make our meetings more effective.
Thank you again for your service and commitment to our school. We have some fun and exciting things planned for this year. We look forward to working with you this year.
Sincerely and gratefully,
Jennifer, Jen, Megan, Christine, Sherin & Manar
