ALUMNI

Welcome Back!

Dear Alumni/ae of ICS and Assumption Schools:

As pastor of the two Catholic parishes in Tuckahoe and Eastchester, I wish to welcome you back to where it all began, your elementary school. Whether you spent 9 years or 3 years with us, you are still a very important part of the Catholic schools in the Tuckahoe family. I want you to consider this alumni page a place where you can come back to the memories of your beloved elementary schools, a place where you can share your memories of Immaculate Conception and Assumption School! click here to read more...

To our alums from ICS, as it was when you walked the hallways of your school, ICS is still dedicated to providing a value-based education for each of our children. Presently we have 389 students representing 56 different countries, from Eastchester, Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Mt. Vernon, Yonkers, Danbury Ct., and places near and far. ICS still provides an education that is marked by individual attention and by a close-knit, talented, and diverse community of students and parents, teachers and administrators, all collaborating in the education of our children. The ICS academic program provides a solid elementary curriculum, but an ICS education goes beyond academic excellence. We place the highest value on the care and concern for the whole child: body, soul, spirit and mind. ICS provides opportunities for our students to grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally, while challenging them to develop all of their God-given talents and to use those talents in generous service to others.

To our alums from Assumption, though your school is now closed, the building still stands as a testimony to those who walked its hallways. You were blessed to be taught by the very dedicated Filippini sisters and faculty; they truly were blessed years with many cherished memories. The school was very close-knit, and everyone knew each other, just like it still is now in town. Just take a walk through the halls of the present-day Village Hall of Tuckahoe and the memories will still linger – the mayor of Tuckahoe sits where “Sr. Helen” once sat and police station occupies the former cafeteria. The televised village Board meetings now take place in the school library. The memories are endless. The school may be gone, but you now have a place to connect to your schoolmates and teachers!

Whether you went to ICS or Assumption, stop by and visit ICS and hear once again the lessons taught by the Sisters, or hear the songs in Music class, or see the art, or remember your first special friend.

I thank you for visiting this very special site and for your interest in Immaculate Conception School. We look forward to seeing you at the school on the hill. Stay tuned for more information on an upcoming ICS/Assumption reunion!

Wishing you the choicest of God's blessings, may I remain

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Reverend Eric P. Raaser
