Immaculate Conception School

The School of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic parish school in which Gospel truths, values, and attitudes are primary to the work of education. ICS sees its service of education as contributing to the Church, the world, and the local community of Eastchester and environs. Since 1911, the Franciscan Sisters of Hastings have served the school. Along with the priests and the religious, ICS is proud of its dedicated lay faculty and staff.
Philosophy and Goals
We believe in the dignity of each person and see every child as a unique and special person created by God the Father, redeemed by Jesus Christ; and called to grow in holiness by the Spirit of God.
We further believe that it is within the context of the school community of faith, composed of students, parents, teachers and staff, and administrators that growth to full personhood is fostered.
As a school family, we affirm the following:
To provide both within the individual classroom and the school at large an experience of faith in action.
To create and maintain a spirit of respect, understanding, and love.
To develop a sense of responsibility for ones' actions and a maturing awareness of right and wrong.
To develop educational programs that are current and meet the needs and challenges of the students.
To collaborate with the parents so that they will be supported in their efforts to nurture Christian values in their children. Parent-teacher conferences, parenting workshops and religious education are offered to help achieve this goal.
