The School of the
Immaculate Conception offers classes for Pre-K for 3
year olds through 8th grade. Our School is
affiliated with the Archdiocese of New York. We have
maintained our Middle States Accreditation for
Elementary Schools since 1995. New York State
Standards along with New York Archdiocesan
Guidelines provide the framework for our
instruction. Our students participate in the New
York State Testing program, Iowa Tests for Basic
Skills, as well as Archdiocesan assessments.
Instruction in the Catholic faith is an integral
part of daily life at Immaculate Conception.
Faculty at Immaculate Conception are professionally
trained. All teachers posses a Bachelor’s Degree and
a majority hold a Master’s Degree. They continue to
participate in professional development or pursue
advanced degrees to keep abreast of current
educational programs. Each individual member views
teaching as both a profession and a ministry. Our
faculty consists of twenty full-time teachers and
three part-time teachers. In addition to our graded
classes we offer art, music, library, physical
education and technology programs.
Our Pastor, Father Eric P. Raaser
holds a Master of Arts in Theology from St. Joseph
Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He
taught at Archbishop Stepinac High School and taught
logic and philosophy in our Archdiocesan College
Seminary Program in Riverdale. Our Principal,
Maureen J. Harten, holds a Master of Science degree
in Education for Administration and Supervision and
State Certification for School Administration and
Supervision. She has taught at the elementary level
and held positions as athletic director, assistant
principal and principal in schools in the
Archdiocese of New York.
Our support staff includes an Administrative
Assistant, a Building Secretary, a Tuition
Secretary, a Transportation/Nutrition Coordinator, a
