ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAM
Students in the elementary school are assigned to
self-contained, traditional classrooms with a homeroom
teacher.
The math curriculum is built around developmentally
appropriate skills and emphasizes problem-solving
skills and the use of manipulatives.
Our language arts program includes the study of
literature, reading skills, grammar, and composition.
Writing skills are developed through daily use of
journals as well as essay writing.
Social studies classes on the elementary level make
use of class trips, special projects, videos, and
speakers to bring the classes to life.
Science classes make use of our science equipment and
participate in hands-on lessons at all levels. The
elementary curriculum is rounded out with special
classes such as physical education, music, art,
library, and computer.
