Non-discriminatory Policy
The School of the
Immaculate Conception has not and shall not
discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and
ethnic origin in the administration of educational and
admission policies, scholarship loan programs,
athletic and other school administered programs. This
policy is subscribed to by all Catholic Elementary and
Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of New York,
whether owned or operated by the Archdiocese, the
parishes of the Archdiocese, or religious communities
within the Archdiocese.
Admission Requirements.
The following
requirements must be met on the part of each parent
whose child is admitted:
- Each parent will be
interviewed by the Principal and Pastor.
- Cooperation with
the school in the religious formation of your child
through the attendance at Sunday Mass.
- Children must meet
the age requirements set forth by the New York State
Board of Education-
Age 3 by December 31st for Pre-K 3 year old program
Age 4 by December 31st for Pre-K 4 year old program
Age 5 by December 31st for Kindergarten
- Mandatory
requirements for the NY State Health Department must
be fulfilled.
- Children applying
for Grade 1-7 must meet academic and behavioral
criteria.
- Parishioners are
given priority and considered for acceptance if:
- Enrolled in ICS School of Religion
- Enrolled in another Catholic School
- Enrolled in Public School
- Non-parishioner
Catholics may be considered for acceptance pending
space.
- Non parishioners,
non-Catholic may be considered for acceptance
pending space.
Admission to
Grade 1
All children enrolled
in ICS Kindergarten will be given priority acceptance
to Grade 1
After Care Program
A before and after
school program is held on most days that school is in
session. This includes early dismissal days.
